COVID-19 a Rapid Antigen Detection Test with LATEX AGGLUTINATION

COVID-19 a Rapid Antigen Detection Test with LATEX AGGLUTINATION. CURRENT TESTS AVAILABLE PCR tests, isothermic nucleic amplification and various antibody detecting assays.(ranging from 15 min to 24hrs or more) MY IDEA ·        Researchers at Israel have developed monoclonal antibodies which neutralize the COVID virus by binding to its spike proteins. ·        These antibodies can be used in making a highly specific rapid antigen test for the virus. ·        The principle behind my idea is  Latex agglutination   test to detect coronavirus antigen  in clinical specimen. Source of my Idea :   Latex agglutination test on viruses has been performed successfully for the rapid detection of the rabies and avian flu viruses (h5n1) the size of the covid 19 virus is 60-140nm almost identical to the dimensions of the H5N1 virus 80-120nm, this further supports this idea for testing. 2023 (November). JRCPTB In-Patient care Quality Improvement Project.

Image
JRCPTB QIP Project. The Inpatient care quality improvement cycle started with the goal of improving patient care by identifying lapses, and checking progress in   4 domains   of clinical practice that impact the quality of inpatient care namely;    ·        History taking  ·        Clinical/ physical examination ·        Lab and imaging data analysis ·        Full case analysis   Using the online learning portfolios of the students of 2016 batch; which was divided into 4 quarters; these 4 domains were graded based on performance from 0-4. I collected this raw data and processed the data to represent it statistically (quarter mean and cumulative mean scores). Thus enabling us to check for progress/ changes in specific domains and overall clinical practice.   After processing the data, I systematically entered the data into an ex...

2024 January. Elective rotation at FIU (Infectious Disease).

Infectious Disease Elective at Hialeah Hospital. January - 2024. Preceptor - Luis Montano, M.D Institution - Florida International University, HWCOM. As a med student from India, who has completed their 4th year of school, I was ecstatic coming to Miami to work with Dr. Montano. I have always had reverence towards Infectious Disease physicians. Their vast repertoire of knowledge and their expertise in infectious etiologies has always been an awe inspiring quality. When I finally met Dr. Montano my impressions were cemented.  Dr. Montano was an amazing physician, mentor, friend and human being. Working with him, learning medicine, learning about the healthcare system, life of a physician in the states, and the insights he gave us on our assignments are cherished memories I have from the rotation.  Dr. Montano and I bonded over our common interests in, cars, clinical medicine. Our conversations of the differences and different challenges our healthcare systems have were ve...

2024 Miami Marathon. A Medical Volunteers Experience.

2024 Miami Marathon, Half Marathon and Tropical 5K. (A Life Time event) The roar of the crowd, the rhythmic pounding of thousands of feet, and the sheer determination on every runner's face were palpable as I took my place as a medical volunteer at the Life Time 2024 Miami Marathon. As an International Medical Graduate (IMG) making my debut in the U.S. healthcare system, this was more than just a volunteer opportunity-it was a dream come true.     While completing an elective rotation with FIU, I stumbled upon this exciting opportunity through Life Time Events: volunteering as a medical professional at a marathon. I was ecstatic and registered in a heartbeat. The morning of the marathon, I woke up at 4 AM, took a cab to the event, and joined the team. Our group was largely comprised of med students and professionals from Baptist Health, the official health partner of the event. Their extensive experience with similar events provided invaluable guidance and set the stage for a ...
